A measure combining investor housing share with rental price data, to capture investor influence on the market beyond ownership share alone.
The idea is to weight investor ownership share by rental price levels or growth, so the metric reflects economic impact, not just the proportion of homes owned.
This needs a rental price series merged in (a real, sourceable dataset — ONS publishes a Price Index of Private Rents), but the exact formula needs more thought first. A ratio that just multiplies two numbers together doesn't automatically produce a meaningful, well-defined economic measure — worth getting the definition right before building it, not just building something that runs.
